A B O U T

I have always been intrigued with the building process, from playing with toy tools as a kid, helping my dad with projects, and earning my degree in Civil Engineering from NCSU, but I started my journey into furniture making when my wife and I were living in Venice, CA on Rose Ave. shortly after getting married. Having mostly lived in apartments, this little beach bungalow came with a one-car garage and room for a few tools. Anna bought some workbench tops off Craigslist and asked me to put some legs on them for her budding floral design business.

Research turned into an interest, and an interest turned into an obsession. I have found that furniture-making is the perfect balance of my artistic side and my engineering/mathematical side. There is something so calming to me about figuring a design with a cup of coffee, hand sharpening plane blades, and running my hands over a freshly sanded piece of white oak with the smell of saw dust in the air. And if you’re like me, you find it very discouraging most furniture these days is comprised of particleboard, veneers, and cheap hardware. The rose is a symbol throughout many cultures for love and passion and my passion is embedded into every piece of furniture I make. I hope that it shines through to your home or office, allowing them to be truly unique.
